大前研一著「ベンチャー起業実践教本」より
世の中には｢距離｣と「時間距離」という概念がある。例えば、東京―大阪間は距離でいえば550キロだが、時間距離でいうと1時間である。しかし、この時間距離は東京―八王子間とたいして変らない。最近重要になってきたのは、「料金距離」である。東京―ニューヨーク間の料金距離は安いツアーなら5万円程度だが、この料金は東京―札幌間とたいして変らない。このような料金距離が宮崎のシーガイアや長崎のハウステンボスを潰していったのである。
